Lamb’s House in Leith uses a thoughtful colour palette to lift the exposed wood and brick textures that define this interior design.

Accents of blues and greens are used sparingly to define space, while touches of richer reds are used for an understated luxury.

Space is used cleverly in this design, with floorboards kept bare but given interest with patterned rugs and the walls painted a single colour in each room, providing an airy feel that makes the most of the natural light provided by the historically small windows.

Furniture is also used sparingly through the home, with classic-style pieces subtly enhancing the design and sitting comfortably into each room’s atmosphere, while classical pictures are framed and spaced along the walls.

This is an understated design that respects the house’s long history, allowing its original features stand out while updating it enough to be a comfortable 21st Century family home.
