The great thing about typography is that it can be completely unique, from neon lights to vintage pieces. Vintage pieces not only reflect your own personality, but they also bring their own sense of history to a place, so choose a piece that can take pride of place in a room. We love the mottled iron letters in the design pictured, which complement the other stand-out objects in the white bedroom.

Other fantastic ideas include spelling out hobbies for children’s rooms, covering a feature wall with an alphabet collage, and personalising a bedroom with a simple, single letter.
